Hey everyone, well I have been into my new class and had a bit of a look around. It is painted all these different colours and looks like something out of the psychedelic 70’s. It looks like it is 3 rooms opened up into 1.

I am going to have to work hard to transform it into something special. Mr B doesn’t even know where to start with this one!!! Check out the photos.

Great work to all the people who got their ‘Big OE Project’ in on time. I thought you did an awesome job and I have enjoyed marking them. Europe is such a cool place to go visit and I’d love to go back again soon.

Some projects I couldn’t get to open because they are made on a newer version of Microsoft Word. Paige I couldn’t put your project on the Blog as it was saved in a funny file format. But you did an amazing job and received an A Plus. If you click on the links below you can check out some of them.

Lots of people have been asking me what I am doing next year so I thought I better put up a post letting eveyone know.

Next year I am leaving Newbury School to go teach at Hokowhitu School in Palmerston North. I have accepted a Long-Term Relieving job teaching Year 4/5.

I plan to keep the blog running. It will have the same Blog address but obviously a different name and school.

Check out Room 5’s clustr Map. Since February we have had visitors to the blog from all over the world. The Blog has been awesome and it’s a pity but there is only 3 more weeks left before it changes to my new school. I wonder what all those people from around the world think of our Blog?

Hey Team, check out this Crime Wordle I made. It is a brainstorm of all the Crime words we have been talking about in class. It took me a while to figure out how to make it but I finally pulled it off. That’s the great thing about ICT, there’s always a way !!!!!

Assessment week is finally over!!!! Well done everyone for trying so hard on your Term 4 Assessment. Mr Baker will mark and record your tests over the weekend and hand back your results next week.

I have posted some new Podcasts on our Podcast site. Check them out they are extremely funny!!!!!!

The Edublog team (people who host our blog) have announced that it is the time to nominate for the 2008 edublog awards. Each year they run a competition for best educational blogs. You need a blog to nominate someone’s blog so fingers crossed someone likes our blog and we get a nomination!!!

Hey everyone, the Hillary team is holding a Photo Exhibition on Tuesday at Lamb and Calf Day. Photos have been printed out in colour on photographic paper and can be purchased for $3 half page and $5 full page.

The Exhibition is mainly made up of children’s ACE Homework Projects but Mrs Cunningham and myself have also added in some photos from throughout the year.

The children have done a great job, so please come along and support the Hillary team and this cool fundraiser.

Congratulations everyone, we have had 10,000 visitors to our Blog!!! Who would of thought 8 months ago we would have had so many visitors. That works out at about 40 different hits a day (your computer is only counted once a day no matter how many times you go on the Blog).

I have another site that monitors our Blog and records Statistics. So far we have had visitors from all seven continents and I frequently get e-mails from overseas countries asking for Blogging advice.

So thanks everyone for checking out our Blog and supporting the Blog throughout the year. Who knows what the next 8 months will bring? Anyway, thanks again and keep on Blogging everyone!!!!!!

Hey everyone, well the Blog has been out of action for the last few days as the people who I run the Blog through have been up grading their Server. They have added more memory so hopefully it should run a little better now. Our Blog is so big now that you need broadband to access everything.

I hope everyone is working on their Speeches as our class Speech competition is on Tuesday, week 1. The Hillary Speech competition is on Wednesday, week 1. Everyone is expected to do a speech.

I have just marked everyone’s ACE Project and I was really impressed with your work. Everyone is going to chose 1 photo to sell at the Lamb and Calf day exhibition. I am also going to pick some of my favourite photos from throughout the year and put them up for sale. All proceeds will go towards camp.

98 days until our baby is due and 50 more hits until 10,000 visitors to the Blog!

I have also added a new page to the Blog called ‘Problem Solving’. I have put up some problems to solve so check it out.

Well the Fair Go Ad Awards are on Tonight and we haven’t heard back from them. I guess this means we missed out on making it onto their show.

All I can say is not to worry as I thought our Fair Go Team did a great job and we had lots of fun making it. Also congratulations to the Schools who did get on, you must have done an awesome job.

Last year after the show they put the top 10 ads on their Website. So fingers crossed hopefully we can make it onto that.

The show is on at 7.30 TV one tonight, so tune in to see the winners.

Hey everyone, well would you believe it but it is the end of Term 3 already!! As always it has been extremely busy and I think everyone is looking forward to a well deserved break.

Term 3 started with Mr Baker and the Fair Go Team putting the finishing touches on their Fair Go Ad. Well Wednesday night is the Ad Show and we have not heard anything back. I think this means we have definitely not won but still could be in the running to get on the show. Last year my class got third and Fair Go did not ring us until the day before the show. So fingers crossed we still have a chance!!

It is usually about now that I make a Photostory of the Term that was. Unfortunately I do not have any photos from the Term as they were all stolen when our house got robbed.

Anyway before we can put our feet up and relax we have a busy week ahead. On Tuesday morning we are off to the Marae (By bus), Thursday is the Maths Road Show and Friday is a Dress Up Day (What you want to be when you get older). Hopefully Wednesday we make our TV debut on Fair Go.

Due to our busy week I think we will have our Class Auction on Thursday afternoon. I know everyone has been working really hard and are keen to spend their hard earned cash!! About now you might be asking what items are going to be available in the auction? Good question!! Well Mr B will bring a whole bunch of goodies but I would also like everyone to bring one thing from home to put in the auction. It could be something that you don’t want and think others would like. We will discuss this in class tomorrow.

Homework for this week is…… Zero!! Enjoy the week off, you deserve it!!!!!!!

Below is a Poll about what you are doing in the holidays. Please vote and leave a comment if you want to tell me what you are up too. Mr B is going to Hamilton and Auckland in week one. Nothing but Shopping and R and R.

Enjoy your Sunday, 5 days to go, see you tomorrow.

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend. Congratulations to Devlin for been named the new P.O.W, great to see a first time winner.

I have just been in class putting up your Wanted Posters and Shared Story and they both look great. Tomorrow I will not be in class as I am attending a Writing course in Feilding. Hopefully I can pick up some good ideas to bring back to school.

The R5 speech competition will be in the first week back after the holidays. That will be followed by the Hillary team and Kainui Speech Competitions. The Topic for the Speeches is as discussed in class ‘A person who inspires you’. For Blog Homework I want you to name the person you are going to write your speech about and list a few reasons why they inspire you. I look forward to reading your comments.

Mr Baker is putting his feet up tonight and is going to cheer on the Warriors to victory. See you all on Tuesday.

Hey everyone, well Mr Baker has some bad news…our house got robbed yesterday while Trudi and I were at work. Unfortunately they stole lots of things including our computer and ICT gear. This means the Blog is out of action while we sort out what to do.

I guess it’s back to communicating the old fashion way (pen and paper), Blogging was fun while it lasted!!!!!!
