Hey everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend. Check out the photos below, they are from some Art we did on Umbrellas (appropriate considering the weather). Come into class if you want to have a closer look.

Voki Challenges:

Here are some clues to help you out. The student Voki is somewhere in Europe, has a large park in the middle, they love to eat meat and potatoes and the country it is in is surrounded by 9 other countries.

The parent Voki is also in Europe and I have changed the picture to give you more of a chance. Tourist attractions in this city include its Museum and Castle. Good luck, Jenny has picked a tough one!!!!

9 Letter Word - This scrambled up 9 letter word has been on Room 5’s window for the last month. Can you figure out what word it is?  A  I  T  S  I  R  C  E  L

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and the P.O.W will be up tomorrow.

Hey everyone, sorry it’s taken me so long to get this weeks Blog Homework up but I have been extremely busy.

First Voki Challenge Clues: Children’s Voki is somewhere in Europe and the city has the most beautiful park in the middle of it. Parent’s Voki is not in Asia, is a city with 2 million people and has a river running through it. It also had its US Embassy bombed by Al-Qaeda. Good luck, both Voki Challenges are tricky!!

W8 BLOG HOMEWORK

Send me a comment telling me about your favourite place in the world. It could be somewhere in your house, town or somewhere you have been. Please explain why it’s your favourite place.

Mr Baker’s answer: My favourite place in the world is Hyde Park in London. I just love Hyde park because it is such a beautiful park and I used to live right next to it in London. London is a awesome city and the park used to remind me of NZ and I loved going for walks and runs in it every day.

Hey everyone, the last Voki Challenge has been struck - it was Jerusalem in Israel. It must have been too easy or someone got a few extra clues? Anyway I have put up a new Voki Challenge and it is extra hard. Good luck, chocolate fish to the first person to strike it. I will drop in extra clues as we go along.

Hey Room5ians, Well W7 is going to be an extremely busy week. On Tuesday is the Kainui Cross Country and on Wednesday is the Mark Donaldson Rippa rugby Tournament. Children going to the Cross Country on Tuesday need to remember to bring back their Permission Slips tomorrow. At the moment I do not have enough cars and might have to take less kids if transport does not improve. Please see me tomorrow if you can take a car.

I have put up a new Voki Challenge so have a go at solving it. It’s pretty tricky!! Here’s a couple of clues: It’s a English speaking city and it’s not in Europe. Good luck.

WEEK 7 BLOG HOMEWORK - Since we are learning about Statistics in class I want you to collect some data about your house.

1) How many doors does your house have?

2) How many windows does your house have?

3) How many steps in your house?

Mr Baker’s answer. 1) 20 doors 2) 42 Windows 3) 9 steps

Remember to be honest, I look forward to reading your answers.

Hey Room5ians, No one has figured out the Voki Challenge yet so I’ll give you another clue. The city is somewhere in Eastern European. If I was trying to figure it out I’d be reaching for my Atlas. Good luck team, it’s a tricky one.

If you check out the Maths page you will find I have put up a new Maths Quiz. It’s based on what we have been doing in class. This week we start Statistics.

Blog Homework for this week is to write about what you want to be when you get older. For example:

When I get older I want to be a _____________. I want to be a ______________because_____________________

Mr Baker’s answer: When I get older I want to be a Photographer. I want to be a Photographer because I love taking photos and have always been fasinated by beautiful pictures and the way that they show a moment in time. I think being a Photographer would also be really interesting beacause you get to do different things all the time (I get bored doing the same old thing all the time). Maybe I’ll do a few more years teaching then study to be a photographer. It would be so cool!!!!!!

Look forward to reading your answers and don’t forget to explain why you want to be that person.
