Hey Room5ians, check out these famous photos from World War 2. I have added another photo because I put the wrong photo on first. It wasn’t until I got Harrison’s answer that I realised that it was the wrong photo.Anyway Harrison’s answer was right for photo 1. Who, where, when, why and what is happening in photo 2?

Wow, we have passed 2,000 hits on our Blog!!! The second thousand was way faster than the first. How long will it take to reach 10,000? Mr Baker has added a new page to our Blog. If you click on the ‘Our Classroom’ link above you will access it. The page is full of photos of our classroom and shows things we have been up to. Check it out and tell me what you think. Thanks team for a extremely busy but rewarding week. Room 5 is starting to take shape and it was great to get our new desks and whiteboard this week(Pity it wasn’t a smartboard, as Mr Baker used to teach with them in England and they rock!) Check out the photos of Room 5’s treasure hunt and us doing Maths on the concrete with chalk. Learning is so much fun some times. Anyway, to the big news of the day. Who is the new P.O.W? Well if you want to find out you will have to listen to Mr Baker’s voki. Have a great Easter Room5ians and I will see you on Wednesday. Great work everyone, assembly was an awesome effort and we had to overcome lots of problems to pull it off. Congratulations to Emily for being named P.O.W. I love the way you always smile and try your hardest. Emily was the last P.O.W to be named in class. From now on I’m going to annouce the new P.O.W on the Blog. The week ahead looks like smooth sailing, without any interruptions. I’m looking forward to that!!!! We start ‘number’ in Maths on Monday and will swap classes with R6 and R7. That means some kids will go to Room 7 or 6 and some will stay with Mr Baker. Parent interviews this week. I look forward to talking with your parents and discussing your skills reports. I have lots of nice things to say. Easter on Friday. Question - Why do we have Easter? Why does it always fall on different days each year? Send me a comment with your answers. Have a great weekend Room5ians and I might see you at the Pool Party tomorrow. Hey Room5ians, guess what? Mr Baker was setting up the Multi-purpose room this afternoon for assembly and he blew all the fuses. Do you know what that means? We have no power and the sound system is not working. Fingers crossed team that we can fix it before 2.20 tomorrow (I have rung an electrian and hopefully he can fix it in time.) If not we will have to use BIG VOICES. Anyway, the Item is looking good and I hope everyone is practicing their lines for tomorrow. Michael and Elizabeth I have changed the ending so I will hand out new scripts tomorrow. And Elettra, don’t worry about the computer we will nail it tomorrow. Everyone is doing a great job. I have printed out our Business card and all we need to do is cut them out. Anyone who is good with scissors can help out (It will require a steady hand) Have a good night Room5ians and see you tomorrow The week ahead is going to be extremely busy. First up we have Kainui swimming sports on Tuesday. Tomorrow we will organise which events everyone will swim in. Mr Baker forgot to send out the notice on Friday asking for transport. So far we have 2 cars, but need another 2-3. If anyone is available can they please send a note to school tomorrow. Thanks. Wednesday Mr Baker is working with Mrs Cunningham and Miss Transom on Extending High Standards. Room 5 will have a reliever. Friday is our assembly item!!!!!! I guess Thursday and Friday we will whip something up. Mixed in around all that we are writing Recounts for Writing, learning about angles in Maths and focusing on decoding in Reading. Also it’s our last week to finish our Literacy contracts. Great work to those people who have already finished, you have awesome time management skills. Did I mention we start our new unit this week? Conflict! Our focus for Conflict is World War II. Should be exciting. If anyone has anything interesting about the War could they please bring it to school. Congratulations to Joshua Watson for being named the first boy Person of the Week. Great work Joshua, you deserved it and are setting a great example for the rest of the class.
